the family's here!

i feel sad that family outing season 1 is ending.. i love the original members... sooro, jongshin, jaesuk, hyori, daesung, yejin, chunhee. dongwan was supposed to be a member but he had to leave for military service. jongkook came on board on ep 19. too bad yejin and chunhee had to leave because both were busy with shooting their dramas. haejin and shiyeon replaced them but they were boring. haejin is cute but he was silent most of the time. shiyeon is pretty but i hate her whiny voice.

okay.. back track a bit.. so what is family outing? it's a variety show in korea shown every sunday. the family members treat some old people for an overnight trip and they get to stay at their house, do some chores, play games, cook dinner and breakfast. my favorite parts in each episode are: 1) at the start when they meet the new family member, 2) all of the games.. esp the water games - they're so hilarious and all of them totally shed their image, 3) cooking dinner - because it's fascinating to see them cook korean food (they just love putting soybean paste and red chili in every dish), 4) breakfast talk - in the morning while they cook breakfast, the conversations are always fun.

i haven't fully watched all of the episodes but here's just a list of my favorite family outing moments:

favorite member/s: hyori and jaesuk because they're just so cool. congrats to them winning the daesang during the 2009 sbs entertainment awards!

sooro is my 3rd fave member coz he's the game devil!

favorite couples: stepmom kim & chunderella (sooro/chunhee), dumb & dumber (jaesuk/daesung), kookri (jongkook/hyori)

favorite guests/episodes: in no particular order
1) daniel henney - of course, he's so nice and the entire episode was so funny
2) cha seung won - wow! he's so cool and trumps sooro! and he cooked dinner for the family
3) cha tae hyun/janghyuk - this episode was one of the best, put cha concubine (mr lazy) and janghyuk (super hardworking) together and jaesuk was in trouble!
4) seungri/hyunjoong - i like them both and the episode was also great! i also liked the family olympics
5) TOP - this episode was also funny - love how daesung was deliberately ordering TOP around and spilling his secrets
6) rain, yoona, son dambi, taeyeon/hongki, dongwan, junjin and lots more!

favorite/most memorable moments: in no particular order
1) breakfast with hyori and daniel henney - when hyori was peeling the radish using her teeth.. haha.. she looked like a squirrel!
2) when daniel henney was showing chunhee and jaesuk how to drink coffee and eat rice cake ala CF
3) when daniel henney did a mini runway walk wearing hanbok and jaesuk trying to copy him
4) every time cha seung won caught a fish and bragged about it while sooro looked peeved
5) when cha seung won carried hyori and knocked her around .. poor hyori.. she probably felt dizzy that afternoon
6) the bamboo fight scene with lee junki - awesome! reminds you of crouching tiger hidden dragon
7) janghyuk and jaesuk's famous.. "what time is it now?" "timing is now!!"
8) any game where hyori or jaesuk get tossed in the mud or falls flat on their faces
9) whenever hyori puts down or teases jong kook
10) after dinner when the family had a karaoke night
11) when jaesuk, jongshin and jongkook went for karaoke and sang/danced to gee
12) whenever yejin and hyori fights for the no. 1 spot
13) jaesuk and daesung's dumb and dumber moment - when it took them 30mins just to boil water for the ramen

and so many more!!! it's sad that season 1 is ending. they filmed their last episode a few weeks ago.

im looking forward to watching the episodes with ha jiwon, nicole/tiffany, jo hansun/kim sungsoo, jyp/seo in young!

girls generation

as much as i'd love to hate these girls, but their songs are just too damn addicting! and they all look so perfect.. with the perfect hair, skinny bodies, aegyo smiles and matching cute synchronized dance moves, you can't help but be fascinated and mesmerised by their live performances! they really look like 9 human, singing and dancing barbie dolls!

took me only this year to distinguish the 9 girls from each other and know their names..tiffany, jessica, yuri, yoona, so hyeon, hyo yeon, tae yeon, soo young and sunny. of the 9, i find tiffany and tae yeon the prettiest and with the best voices. yuri is the sexiest. soo young and hyo yeon the best dancers.
